Presenting high-school students with initial insight into mathematical research
The European Tournament of Enthusiastic Apprentice Mathematicians (ETEAM) is a team competition for high-school students. Its aim is to give them an initial insight into mathematical research.
Accompanied by a teacher or mathematician, the students have several months to research open mathematical problems, for which the authors do not necessarily have a definite solution.
After producing written contributions, the teams gather for a week to debate and discuss their solutions in front of a panel of mathematics researchers.
